The power of Data

The great revival of artificial intelligence dates back to the early 2000s. Why? Because the quantity and quality of data on the web has increased exponentially since then. Indeed, more data equals more elements to be ‘fed’ into algorithms capable of understanding increasingly complex patterns.

Currently, McKinsey (multinational strategic consultancy firm) estimates that the technologies and algorithms connected to artificial intelligence could generate USD 3.5-5.8 trillion in annual value. In 69% of cases studied, artificial intelligence and deep neural networks have improved performance compared to those provided by existing analytic techniques. Therefore travel, transport and logistics, motor vehicle assembly and retail, high technology, oil, gas, and chemicals are the industries that could be heavily impacted by AI today.
